Emmy's story was quite entertaining and clean..... not even any bad language. The book was priced reasonably and just as good as some of the more expensive ones I have read. Good job Cassie, I will buy more of the series.

Emmy A Sweet Mail Order Bride Romance Gold Rush Brides Book 2 edition by Cassie Hayes Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Enemy's not a sympathetic character until a ways into the story, but as she learns some important life lessons along the way. Mason is a standup, moral man with a sad story of his own. Loved the interplay between the two and the entire cast of characters. Enjoyable!

I received a free copy of the book and voluntarily reviewed it.
I am really into Mail Order Bride Romance right now. I am reading anything I can get on to my , especially if it is free, or inexpensive. I am very familiar with the area where this novel takes place in Northern California and ity history. I find it very historically accurate. It was hard to put down, and I hated to put it down when my eyes got so blurry where it became increasingly difficult to read. Emmy is an adorable, loveable character, who grows on you, along with growing on Sheriff Mason Wilder. It turned out as I hoped it did, and I look forward to the next novel that Cassie Hayes has in this series!
I loved it, impossible to go to sleep before finishing It.
Like in Cassie Hayes first book Gold rush brides. the beginning, you never get bored.
Exciting from right from the beginning.
You just want keep on reading and reading.
I is an exciting book, funny too an with all kinds of emotions.
I love all the characters even the awful highwaymen.
I loved the storyline and how Cassie has managed, like in her first book, to put together 2 different persons.
I loved Mason's vulnerability behind the strength and Emmy strength behind her vulnerability.
I want say more because I don't like spoilers, you just have to read it.
Thanks Cassie Hayes for sharing with the readers another awesome story
This was a nice book, but there were a few plot holes in my opinion. When Emmy faints in her grooms arms, I didn't understand why he didn't just walk right out of the church with her. Since she recognized him, it would seem logical that he'd take her along to keep her from telling anyone who he was. And while I absolutely detested Emmy's spoiled brat persona, I thought she changed way too fast. I also didn't care for the epilogue. I was expecting to read more bout the main characters and instead, I got to read about some people in another town that I didn't know. (Possibly these were people from book 1, but I haven't read that one.) There was a little info about Emmy and her groom via a letter but for me it wasn't a very satisfying epilogue.
I really enjoyed this book! Emmy was a spoiled brat who faced sudden poverty and decided to go out West as a mail order bride to escape her situation. She expects men to do her bidding because of her beautiful face and throws tantrums like a 2 year old when she doesn't get her way. When she finds that her intended groom isn't what she expected, the events that follow bring out a new Emmy...one with courage, determination, and empathy for others. This book has some absolutely hilarious moments. One of my favorites is the first time Emmy makes coffee. I truly had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. I will definitely be reading more of this series.

There are no language or sexual situations in this book to offend any readers.
This is overall a well-written story with interesting characters and believable dialogue. There are a few plot holes right toward the beginning, however, that took me out of the story. Without spilling too many beans, Emmy faints in the villain's arms, which should give the villain exactly the scenario he needs to scoop her up and walk right past the sheriff with her, but he doesn't. He lays her down and heads out with an excuse for finding a doctor. This, of course, frees her up to join the posse later, but it makes no sense that he'd leave her behind in the first place. Also, for as spoiled as she was supposed to be, she changed awfully quickly. I think it would have made for a more interesting story if her lessons had taken longer to learn. I wanted to keep reading, but I really didn't have any trouble laying it down for a day or two. The story didn't really call to me very loudly when I wasn't reading it. Even with these plot weaknesses, I was prepared to dish out 4 stars until I got to the epilogue. After I read it, I thought, "Well, what the heck was that?" A whole bunch of people back in San Francisco we've never met carrying on about stuff we have no idea about... Not a satisfying ending to just hear a snippet or two about Emmy and Mason in a letter. A well-written ending is so important... so I'm down to 3 stars. If I could I'd probably give it 3 1/2.
If you have just a few minutes to spare and thiink to yourself "I'm going to start reading Emmy"...... DON'T DO IT! You won't be able to put this book down! The next thing you know you will be swept into the storyline and refuse to put the book down! Make sure you have plenty of time available when you start this book. The characters are so endearing, you feel yourself bonding with them. Cassie Hayes captures your attention right away with this storyline. You will enjoy all the twists & turns this story takes. Ms. Hayes has a way with words, you can actually picture the old west as it really was. Her attention to detail is amazing. If you haven't read her previous book "Gold Rush Brides The Beginning" be sure to pick up a copy of that as well! Both books are stand alone stories, but I'm sure you will want to read more by Cassie Hayes! Enjoy!
